Our Academic Programs
At THE EARLY STARTERS SCHOOL ABUJA, we offer a balanced and comprehensive blended curriculum designed to cater to the diverse educational needs of children from Early Years through Primary and preparing them for Secondary education. Our approach promotes all-round development, equipping students for future opportunities.
Early Years Foundation Stage (Ages 3 months - 5 years)
Resumption Time: 7:45 AM – 1:30 PM
We use the British EYFS Curriculum, incorporating aspects of the Nigerian Early Childhood Education Curriculum and The Creative Curriculum. Our curriculum is rich and unique, addressing all areas of teaching young children to acquire the knowledge, skills, and competencies they need to thrive. STEAM activities are integrated to promote problem-solving, analytical thinking, and creative skills.
Infants Room (3 - 14 months) / Crèche
Our setup ensures infants experience home-like care and comfort. A structured programme includes playtime, tummy time, music, stimulation, exploration, feeding, and nap-time, tailored to each child’s schedule.
Toddlers Class (15 months - 2 years)
An active stage of exploration and discovery. We nurture this through planned activities including movement, music, rhymes, colouring, puzzles, and toys. Potty training commences, and self-help skills develop.
Pre-Nursery (2 - 3 years)
Focus on social interaction and communication through group activities. Potty training is reinforced, daily life skills are learned, and children are introduced to scribbling and phonics. Moral values are emphasized.
Nursery Year (3 - 4 years)
Children demonstrate eagerness for learning. We stimulate this with challenging educational resources and hands-on learning. STEAM activities and vital cognitive skills are part of their daily routine.
Reception Year (4 - 5 years)
Preparing for easy progression to primary school. Skills and concepts from Nursery are reinforced and mastered. More complex problem-solving concepts are introduced, fostering independent reasoning and exploration in science, technology, arts, music, and writing.
Primary School (Years 1 - 6 / Ages 6 - 11 years)
Resumption Time: 7:45 AM – 2:00 PM
We provide a safe, vibrant, and technology-enhanced learning environment. Our curriculum follows a British-based structure with a strong emphasis on core subjects, supported by a wide range of enriching subjects. Every classroom is equipped with interactive whiteboards and internet access.
